Maabjerg BioEnergy Leverandørforening, backed by Skovgaard Energy, decided to exercise its option to acquire the local biogas plant owned and operated by Maabjerg Energy Center - BioGas in a share deal. Maabjerg BioEnergy Leverandørforening is a cooperative owned by 135 farmers, all of whom are suppliers to the local biogas plant. BDO assisted Maabjerg BioEnergy Leverandørforening with financial and tax due diligence in an accelerated process. Maabjerg BioEnergy Leverandørforening intends to expand the biogas plant with an upgrading facility that allows for biogas to be distributed to the gas grid, thereby increasing market opportunities and, importantly, the price of the gas. Additionally, it will then be possible to sell green certificates which will have a positive impact on the price of the farmer's biomass delivered to the plant.
